Delete Twitter Account
No one can deny that fact that Social media has completely changed our lives. People tend to spend more time online than with their families and friends. One of the most famous social media website is the microblogging platform, Twitter that lets you write a post of 140 characters, upload images and videos and share links with your followers. Twitter has more restrictions as compared to other platforms such as Facebook and it has one of the main reasons that it has less number of users than Facebook. Some people prefer Twitter over Facebook while others are good with the Facebook and just don’t use the Twitter account. If you fall in the second category and don’t intend to use your Twitter account in the near future, you can delete it using the method explained below.For security reasons, Twitter will not let you delete the whole account with one click. It will give you some space so you can think about using it again. Normally, first you will have to deactivate the Twitter account, if your twitter account is deactivated for a whole month, it will be automatically deleted from the Twitter database. Moreover, if you change your mind during the deactivation period, you can simply reactivate it by logging-in to your twitter account. Another important point that you must keep in your mind is that your twitter account information will not be deleted within few minutes or day, it may take up to a week depending upon the followers and the information that you have shared on Twitter. Here’s how to delete your Twitter account.
Open Web Browser on your Computer, Smartphone or Tablet and Go to Twitter.com
Login with your Twitter credentials i.e.: Phone, username/Email and password
After logging in to your Twitter account, Click on your profile picture in the top right corner and click on Settings as shown in the screenshot below.
It will automatically redirect you to the Account settings, Scroll down to the end of the page and here you will find the option to deactivate twitter account. Click on Delete My Account
Now, Twitter will redirect you to a new page asking you to give more information about deleting the account and how you can change the username and Email address of the Twitter account while having the previous account. After reading the information, click on the Deactive@yourusername as shown in the screenshot below.
Once you click that button, a new window will pop-up and you will have to enter the password of your twitter account again. Enter the password and click on the Deactivate Account button.
The new page will give you the information about the successful deactivation of your Twitter account.
All you have to do now is to wait for another 30 days when Twitter will automatically delete your account permanently.
