Get Rid of Blackheads
Blackheads are a common and annoying problem that occurs when the pores on your skin get clogged with excess sebum oil. It mostly occurs on the nose and other parts of the face because this is where the sebaceous glands are active. Though the purpose of these glands is to remove dead skin cells and to keep the skin supple, excess secretion can lead to blackheads.Below are some ways to get rid of blackheads.
Option #1: Bentonite Clay
Bentonite Clay has been used for a long time to remove excess oil from the skin. You can mix a tablespoon of this clay with water to make a paste and apply it on your face. As soon as you apply, you can feel the clay pulling out the oil out of your skin, and in the process, pulls out the blackheads too.
Option #2: Honey and Milk
Another good way to remove blackheads is by putting a tablespoon of organic honey and a tablespoon of milk on a thin strip of cotton. Put this cotton on the areas where you want to remove blackheads, and keep it on for 20 minutes. When you remove the cotton strip, you will notice blackheads sticking on to it. Later, wash your face with a moisturizer.
Option #3: Lemon Juice
Blackheads occur because the pores on your skin that are clogged by sebum oil is oxidized when it comes in contact with oxygen. Therefore, you can void blackheads by shrinking the pores on your skin. One good way to do that is by using an astringent such as lemon. Before applying, wash your face thoroughly and pat it dry. Add lemon juice to a small ball of cotton and apply it on your face just before you go to bed. You can feel the lemon juice tighten your skin, and in the process, will shrink the pores as well. Apply this lemon juice three to four times a week until your blackheads are removed.
Option #4: Steam
An age old method to remove blackheads is through steam. Contrary to popular opinion, it does not open the pores. Rather, it softens the sebum and avoids it from getting trapped in the pores. While doing a hot steam, spend no more than five to ten minutes at a time. Also, make sure you don't get too close to avoid scalding or burns. After you are done steaming, wash your face with warm water and pat dry.
